  Thai Tin Pictures
I met this wonderful fellow at the side of the road in Thailand. He was working on a piece of metal with a small chisel and hammer. The results were incredible. Each piece he had on his table was unique. In halting English he tried to sell me a piece of his work. I have never seen a man so happy as when I told him that I would take them all. I took this picture to remember him by.

It was an incredible day since the person talking to him before me was bartering for a 'better' deal and subsequently walked away without a purchase. He was shocked that I offered to pay him the asking price, which was fair for the work that was done. This was a feel good day but the best feeling was not seeing him at the market for the next week. I like to think that he went home for a visit since the majority of people at the market travel from far away. I hope he had a nice time with his children and grandchildren. I would love to support him again.

  Teak Relief
This incredible carving from Northern Thailand is made from one piece of wood. It contains carvings of 37 birds and animals layered between 3 rows of trees. The artist has been carving since he was 3 years old, learning from his father and grandfather. I bought this piece directly from him at his small shop. I was in awe of the work and could not consider leaving it behind. It is unlike anything I have ever seen before. These photographs can not possibly do it justice.
